Chi sono …
Antonio De Martino ( per tutti quelli che lo conoscono e’ solo Tony … ) nasce a Torino il 21 Marzo 1959.
All’eta’ di 11 anni, complice un suo amico di infanzia possessore di un organo Bontempi, scopre la grande passione per la musica.
Questa passione non lo abbandonera’ mai.
A 12 inizia gli studi musicali sull’organo, per poi passare successivamete al pianoforte; sostiene l’esame di solfeggio ma interrompe gli studi poco prima del 4 anno, a causa degli studi “non musicali” sempre piu’ impegnativi.
Lo studio dei classici influenzera’ costantemente il suo stile compositivo, pur sentendosi attratto da ogni genere musicale, dal leggero al progressivo; tranne uno : la lirica, di cui apprezza la linea musicale ma molto meno la parte cantata (fortunatamente non tutte)
Come la maggior parte dei ragazzi anni 70 amanti della musica “suonata” entra a far parte di un gruppo, con un repertorio leggero; ma l’attrazione vera e propria e’ la composizione.
Nel tempo unisce sempre più le conoscenze informatiche con la musica elettronica, rimanendo però sempre (o quasi) fedele agli schemi musicali canonici.
Attualmente al suo attivo circa quaranta composizioni presenti qui, alcune delle quali utilizzate come base musicale di alcuni video, ed altre utilizzate da egli stesso su video di pubblico dominio visibili sul suo canale Youtube.
Who am I…
Antonio De Martino ( for all those who know him is just Tony … ) was born in Turin on March 21, 1959.
At the age of 11, with the help of a friend of his who owned a Bontempi organ, he discovered a great passion for music.
This passion will never abandon him.
At the age of 12 he began his musical studies, initially on the organ, and then successively on the piano; he took the solfeggio exam but interrupted his studies shortly before the 4th year, due to the increasingly demanding “non-musical” studies.
The study of the classics will constantly influence his compositional style, although he feels attracted by every musical genre, from light to progressive; except one: lyrics, of which he appreciates the musical line but much less the sung part (fortunately not all of them).
Like most 70’s music lovers “played” enters a group, with a light repertoire; but the real attraction is the composition.
Over time he combines more and more computer knowledge with electronic music, but always remaining (or almost) faithful to the canonical musical schemes.
Currently to his credit about forty compositions present here, some of them used as the musical basis of some videos, and others used by himself on public domain videos visible on his Youtube channel.
La composizione…
La scoperta di musicisti e compositori come Ennio Morricone, Vangelis, Enya, Yanni e gruppi come Tangerine Dream uniti ai gia’ conosciuti Genesis e Pink Floyd lo porta decisamente verso la creazione di “immagini sonore”, senza pero’ abbandonare la linea melodica tipica della musica classica o leggera, alle volte piu’ ed alle volte meno accentuata.
Negli anni 80, esplorando anche il genere Country e West Coast, coltiva anche la passione per la chitarra acustica, ma senza approfondirne mai la tecnica, limitandosi all’accompagnamento ed all’arpeggio, ma non al solista.
Determinanti gli anni 90 per l’uso dei sintetizzatori e VST al computer, ma molto spesso altri impegni lavorativi lo costringono a lunghe pause creative; alterna spesso brani tipicamente classici ad altri orientati marcatamente all’immagine, altri di contenuto spiccatamente elettronico – dance; per sua stessa ammissione non si identifica in un genere preciso, ma sono le emozioni che si presentano a portarlo verso la creazione di atmosfere sonore.
Non ha mai avuto la pretesa di definirsi un compositore; l’unica sua soddisfazione e’ trasmettere un’emozione in grado di far stare bene chiunque lo ascolti.

The discovery of musicians and composer like Ennio Morricone,Vangelis, Enya, Yanni and bands like Tangerine Dream together with the already known Genesis and Pink Floyd brings him definitely towards the creation of “sound images”, without abandoning the melodic line typical of classical or light music, sometimes more and sometimes less accentuated.
In the 80s, exploring also the Country and West Coast genre, he also cultivates the passion for acoustic guitar, but without ever deepening the technique, limiting himself to the accompaniment and arpeggio, but not to the soloist.
Determining the 90s for the use of synthesizers and VST on the computer, but very often other work engagements force him to long creative breaks; he often alternates typically classical songs to others markedly oriented to the image, others with a markedly electronic content – dance; by his own admission he doesn’t identify himself in a precise genre, but it’s the emotions that bring him to the creation of sound atmospheres.
He has never had the pretension to define himself as a composer; his only satisfaction is to transmit an emotion able to make anyone who listens to him feel good.
